SITE VISIT
"This is your kuleana, please malama." These were the words shared by Alyson's Grandmother, and she overlooked the area's of Waihe'e, Waiehu, Wailuku, and Waikapku and the same request Alyson would ask of all those who visit the various sites she works at to do the same. These eco systems are sensitive to the carbon footprint of people so much care and respect is needed. Each site has it's own importance to the ahupua'a it is a part of and this information is best understood when you are there, hence the reason why site visits are encouraged.
It is with hope the mana'o gained from learning about how the native limu helps determine the health of the marine eco-system can be embraced by all who have the chance to visit the site.
